(lygenztia #286) Cry me a river
I saw this sign on a gas pump the other day. Yes, stealing is wrong and nobody should do it. Neither should people steal gas. Ever.
But seriously, cloaking the issue as to imply the "greater good" will be served if no gas is ever stolen. Ya, right. Gas producers with their gouging, colluding, rip us off before the long weekend business practices have long since caused all of us to be cynical of their "business practices".
I've not seen the ledgers, but my guess is the cost to maintain toilet paper in the washrooms far exceeds any amount lost at the station from fuel theft. Another guess is that the gas producers have downloaded any stolen fuel losses directly to the station owner. But hey, that's just a guess. Can you imagine the gas producer telling the station owner at the end of the month "Oh, you had $81.00 in fuel stolen in the last 60 days? We will send you a credit, immediately!"
Ya, that's gonna happen.
People shouldn't steal gas, but the gas producers can stop stealing from our wallets any day now. How about a sign for that?
