Worldwide stats provided by www.worldometers.info/coronavirus put the global COVID-19 numbers of reported cases today at 2,345,476. A one day increase of 84,079 cases worldwide reported from yesterday. Again, a slight one day global decrease....which is good. I emphasize reported because there is a wide variance in testing and reporting from country to country and place to place.
The world population is estimated to be: 7,778,451,673

In the national news,
An outbreak has been reported in a Quebec prison, this is not good news. Federal Parliament is adjusting the rules, in consideration of COVID-19. Democracy MUST prevail. Times are tough, to be sure, but now more than ever we must ensure our rights are protected. We must not give away what our forefathers fought for because of this illness. Rights that we give up now, are rights that we will never get back.
The feds and the province are investing a million dollars into the Agri-food sector. A million bucks. The Agri-food sector represents, and is responsible for, our food chain. So, if Ontario has...let's say 50 farming communities (which is probably a low estimate), that boils down to about 20,000 bucks per farming community.
Say what you will about Andrew Scheer, the official opposition Leader, but I sure like this story. He is saying (very publicly) that Canada must 're-think' our relationship with China over the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Prime Minister only finger wags at the media when they raise this issue, telling us that the government is having "productive dialogue" with China. I don't know what that means. It's time to scream at China, not talk to them. They just keep on jamming us, whether its COVID-19, the supply chain, or sending us faulty N-95 masks. And, I remind you, WE SENT THEM N-95 masks when they were in need. They just laugh at us and our weakness. I'm sure when they invade, i'll be in the front of the line to be arrested, but to Hell with them. Make no mistake, they are coming for our resources.
In Ontario,
Toronto continues to be an issue for adhering to the physical distancing guidelines and an by-law officer was assaulted yesterday. As I have said before, this is to be expected. Toronto is the penultimate city of the self entitled, they feel they are the centre of the universe. Mayor Tory will have about as much luck controlling social distancing as he has had with controlling gun violence. He is a nice man, a good man. But, too nice. Just say it like it is, Mayor Tory.
Once again today, no new cases in New Brunswick. Awesome!!
Locally,
We now have a website that shows the line-ups at stores. This is what it has become. We have to line up for everything.
Sadly, there is also a website that is tracking outbreaks at local LTCF's.
If you develop COVID-19 symptoms, there is a breathing technique that is being touted as a remedy, of sorts. No idea if it actually works, but hey, it can't hurt. Here is the link.
Please remember, try to stay positive, try to follow the rules, help where you can and be kind.
