I have stopped texting a certain sect of my friends and relatives. Not to worry, if they do read this they won't know what "sect" means, anyway.

When I go to text someone, my thought process is "I wonder how Ebenezer is doing?, I am thinking of them right now." So, I reach out either with message or funny pic to let them know.

The folks that I have stopped (ceased and desisted??) texting are the type that take their sweet time to answer. (They consider themselves very, very important people, you know..) Then, when they do respond to you they do not reply with something "normal" like..."Hey man, good to hear from you, lets grab a beer."

Instead; they send a photo of them doing something, usually accompanied with a self-aggrandizing caption (Again, they won't have the foggiest notion what that actually means) along the lines of: "LOOK AT ME, I AM THE MOST AMAZING PERSON, IN THE HISTORY OF PERSONS. LOOK AT THE AMAZING THING THAT I AM DOING THAT YOU ARE NOT DOING BECAUSE I AM WAY COOLER THAN ANY COOL GUY IN THE HISTORY OF COOL GUYS. PLEASE PASS THIS ON SO THE WHOLE WORLD CAN BASK IN MY COOLNESS AND SUPERIORITY, TOO."

Yes well...park your inferiority complex, jealousy and general insecurity at the proverbial text message door. And maybe read Mark Manson? Nah, not gonna happen.

Ireland approves the sale of condoms in vending machines. Up until 1979, Irish law prohibited the importation and sale of contraceptives. In 1979, they became legal with a prescription. In 1985, they became legal without a prescription, but couldn't be advertised or sold in vending machines.
